Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience in food service or bakery preferred
- ability to stand for extended periods
- availability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- excellent interpersonal skills
- commitment to maintaining cleanliness and safety standards
- food handler's permit or willingness to obtain one upon employment

Job Duties
- Prepare bakery items according to customer requests using proper bakery equipment
- offer product samples to help customers discover new items or products
- inform customers of bakery specials
- provide customers with fresh products and correct portion sizes to prevent shrink
- recommend bakery items to customers
- use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, and ovens according to company guidelines
- prepare foods following cooking and baking instructions and maintain food temperature logs
- measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipe using kitchen utensils and equipment
- package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise
- check product quality to ensure freshness and review sell-by dates
- properly use kitchen equipment including stove, computerized scale, fryer, steamer, robot coupe
- label, stock, and inventory department merchandise
- report product ordering and shipping discrepancies to the department manager
- understand store layout and locate products when requested by customers
- stay current with seasonal and special ads
- gain and maintain product knowledge to respond to questions and provide suggestions
- monitor inventory and stocking conditions, noting discrepancies
- maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers and log temperatures
- promote trust and respect among associates
- create a welcoming environment for customers answering product questions
- adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
- comply with safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions and notify management
- display a positive attitude
- perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repair needs
- notify management of accidents
- report safety risks and illegal activities
- perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
