Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- prior experience in a bakery or food service environment helpful but not required
- ability to stand for extended periods
- physical ability to lift and carry bakery products and supplies
- availability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- ability to follow food safety and hygiene regulations
- ability to communicate clearly with customers and team members
- age 18 or older as required by law
- ability to obtain a food handlers permit once employed

Job Duties
- Prepare items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment
- offer product samples to customers
- inform customers of bakery specials
- provide fresh products with correct portion sizes to prevent shrink
- recommend bakery items to customers
- use bakery equipment according to guidelines
- prepare foods following food temperature logs and cooking/baking instructions
- measure, prepare, and mix ingredients using kitchen utensils and equipment
- adequately prepare, package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise
- check product quality to ensure freshness
- review sell by dates and take appropriate action
- properly use kitchen equipment such as stove, computerized scale, fryer, steamer, robot coupe
- label, stock, and inventory department merchandise
- report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to manager
- understand store layout to locate products for customers
- stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads
- gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department
- maintain awareness of inventory/stocking conditions
- ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers and maintain logs
- promote trust and respect among associates
- create a welcoming environment for customers
- adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
- reinforce safety programs and identify unsafe conditions
- display a positive attitude
- practice preventive maintenance on equipment and notify management of repairs
- notify management of customer or employee accidents
- report safety risks, illegal activities like theft or fraud
- perform essential job functions with or without accommodation
