Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous retail or food service experience preferred
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Capacity to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Compliance with food safety regulations and ability to maintain cleanliness
- Ability to lift moderate weights as required
- Must be able to perform essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation
Job Qualifications
- Outstanding customer service skills
- Desire to gain an understanding of food production and basic cooking techniques
- Effective communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team
- Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency
- Good basic math skills
- Ability to obtain current food handlers permit once employed
Job Duties
- Prepare bakery items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment
- Offer product samples to customers to help them discover new items
- Inform customers about bakery specials
- Provide customers with fresh products in correct portion sizes to prevent shrink
- Recommend bakery items to customers based on their needs
- Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, and ovens according to company guidelines
- Prepare foods following temperature logs and cooking/baking instructions
