Employees must consistently check product quality, review sell-by dates, and maintain stock freshness to ensure customer satisfaction and compliance with health regulations.

The candidate will also be expected to maintain inventory accuracy, label and stock merchandise, and report any ordering discrepancies to the department manager. Understanding the store's layout and promotional activities is crucial to provide responsive and informed customer service efficiently.

Safety and compliance are integral parts of the job. The role requires adherence to all local, state, and federal health and safety regulations, maintaining loss prevention practices, and identifying safety risks promptly by notifying management. Furthermore, employees will engage in preventive maintenance by inspecting bakery equipment regularly and reporting any maintenance or repair requirements.

Job Duties

  • adhere to all local, state and federal health and civil code regulations
  • ensure compliance with merchandising, customer service, labor control, expense and supply controls, loss prevention, maintenance, safety, food safety, and customer engagement rules
  • reinforce safety programs and identify unsafe conditions
  • practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repair needs
  • report all safety risks, illegal activity, and accidents to management
  • understand store layout and locate products when requested
  • stay current with seasonal and special ads
