Job Duties
- Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service
- establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages customers to return
- assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals for the department
- monitor established quality assurance standards
- demonstrate the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety
- gain and maintain knowledge of bakery products and respond to customer questions and suggestions
- offer product samples to help customers discover new items
- prepare bakery items including wedding cakes as requested by customers
- decorate cakes, pastries, cupcakes, cookies, and other bakery items
- check product quality to ensure freshness and take action on sell by dates
- label, stock, sign, and inventory department merchandise
- report product ordering or shipping discrepancies to the department manager
- understand the store’s layout and locate products on customer request
- adhere to all health and safety regulations
- comply with merchandising, labor control, expense, loss prevention, maintenance, and food safety policies
- reinforce safety programs and report unsafe conditions or incidents
- perform preventive maintenance inspections and report repair needs
- report safety risks, illegal activity, and accidents to store management
