The role being offered is for a Bakery Associate or Bakery Sales Assistant position. This position involves creating an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service and product knowledge. The associate will actively assist in maintaining a safe and clean environment which naturally encourages customers to return. A crucial part of the role is to assist the department manager in achieving sales and profit goals, monitoring established quality assurance standards, and contributing to overall department performance. The associate will handle multiple responsibilities including answering customer inquiries about bakery products, offering product samples, preparing bakery items such as wedding cakes, decorating various baked goods, checking product freshness and quality, stocking and labeling merchandise, and reporting discrepancies or issues to management.

The candidate will be expected to develop and maintain strong knowledge of bakery products, utilize bakery equipment properly, and understand store layout to effectively assist customers. Communication skills are key as the associate often answers product questions and suggests items that meet customer needs. The role also requires adherence to all health, safety, civil code, and company regulations. Safety programs are reinforced through compliance with safety procedures, and the associate must identify and report unsafe conditions, equipment needing repair, and any illegal activities or safety risks. This position demands flexibility and the ability to perform essential functions with or without accommodation.

Job Duties

  • Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service
