Our establishment is a well-regarded retail bakery known for offering a wide range of high-quality baked goods, including custom cakes, pastries, cookies, and other delicious items. We are currently looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic bakery team member to assist the department manager in achieving sales and profit goals. This role involves a variety of responsibilities ranging from preparing and decorating bakery items to providing outstanding customer service. The ideal candidate will have any retail experience, preferably with some background in bakery or cake decorating. This position requires someone who can handle stressful situations effectively, communicate clearly with customers and coworkers, and maintain a thorough knowledge of the products sold in the department. In this role, you will offer product samples, help customers discover new items, and ensure freshness and quality by monitoring product conditions closely.
In addition to interacting with customers and assisting with merchandise, the role involves administrative duties such as inventory control, product labeling, and reporting ordering or shipping discrepancies to management. Safety, food safety, and loss prevention are a top priority, including adhering to all local, state, and federal health and civil regulations. Team members also play a key role in maintaining equipment through preventive maintenance and reporting any safety risks or illegal activity immediately to management. The position requires working knowledge of bakery equipment like refrigerators, freezers, and ovens, along with competence in decorating cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and pastries according to customer requests. You should be comfortable working with a team and be proactive about learning and applying the company’s current merchandising, customer service, and safety standards. Our bakery team is fundamental to creating a positive shopping experience through meticulous attention to product quality and genuine engagement with customers.
