The current opening is for a Bakery Associate who will play a critical role in creating an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service and maintaining a safe, clean environment that encourages customers to return. This is a dynamic role that requires a passion for food, attention to detail, and a customer-centric mindset. The Bakery Associate will assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals while upholding all quality assurance standards within the bakery department.

In this role, the associate will be responsible for preparing bakery items, including wedding cakes, pastries, cupcakes, and cookies, using proper bakery equipment with an emphasis on quality and freshness. They will engage customers by answering questions regarding bakery products, offering product samples, and making recommendations to ensure customer satisfaction. The associate will also be tasked with decorating various bakery items to meet customer requests and inspecting products for freshness, handling inventory, and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal food safety regulations.

A successful Bakery Associate at Fred Meyer must be able to operate equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, and ovens safely and efficiently, adhere to merchandising and labor control standards, and contribute to a safe working environment by identifying and reporting unsafe conditions or maintenance needs.
