- Second language skills including speaking, reading, or writing is desired
Job Duties
- Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering product questions within the department and store
- Gain and maintain knowledge of bakery products to respond to inquiries and make product suggestions
- Offer product samples to customers and prepare bakery items including custom wedding cakes
- Recommend bakery items to ensure customers get the products they desire
- Check product quality for freshness and inspect use-by dates
- Decorate cakes, pastries, cupcakes, cookies, and other bakery items
- Label, stock, sign, and inventory bakery merchandise
- Report ordering and shipping discrepancies to the department manager
- Understand store layout to locate products and stay updated with seasonal and special ads
- Maintain inventory and stocking condition awareness
- Adhere to local, state, and federal health and safety regulations
- Follow merchandising, customer service, labor control, expense control, loss prevention, maintenance, safety, and food safety procedures
- Comply with safety programs and report unsafe conditions to management
- Perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repairs
- Report safety risks, illegal activities, theft, or accidents as required
- Perform essential job functions with or without accommodation
