Job Duties
- create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service
- establish and maintain a safe and clean environment encouraging customers to return
- assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals
- monitor established quality assurance standards
- answer customer questions regarding products sold
- offer product samples to customers
- prepare bakery items per customer requests
- recommend bakery items to ensure customer satisfaction
- check product quality for freshness and take appropriate action
- use bakery equipment properly including refrigerators, freezers, and ovens
- decorate cakes, pastries, cupcakes, cookies and other bakery items
- label, stock, sign and inventory department merchandise
- report ordering or shipping discrepancies to the department manager
- locate products requested by customers and stay updated on ads and promotions
- maintain awareness of inventory and note discrepancies
- adhere to local, state and federal health and civil code regulations
- comply with merchandising, customer service, labor control, expense and supply controls, loss prevention, maintenance, safety and food safety rules
- reinforce safety by identifying unsafe conditions and notifying management
- practice preventive equipment maintenance and report needs for repair
- report safety risks, illegal activities, and accidents
- perform essential job functions with or without accommodation
