The role of Bakery Associate at Fred Meyer is integral to delivering an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service within the bakery department. As a Bakery Associate, you will be tasked with creating an environment that makes customers feel welcome, valued, and appreciated. You will assist customers by answering questions about products available within the bakery and throughout the store, helping them discover new items through product samples, and providing recommendations tailored to their preferences. The role involves preparing bakery items, including wedding cakes and other specialty baked goods, using proper bakery equipment. You will also be responsible for decorating a variety of bakery items such as cakes, pastries, cupcakes, and cookies, ensuring all products meet quality and freshness standards.

Operational duties include checking product quality, reviewing sell-by dates, and handling inventory tasks like labeling, stocking, signing, and taking inventory of department merchandise. The Bakery Associate is expected to adhere to all local, state, and federal health and civil code regulations, ensuring compliance with food safety standards. Moreover, you will play an active role in safety programs by complying with safety procedures, identifying unsafe conditions, and notifying management to sustain a safe working environment.

This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to handle stressful situations calmly.
