Job Duties
- create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service
- establish and maintain a safe and clean environment
- assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals
- monitor all established quality assurance standards
- demonstrate the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety
- gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department
- respond to questions and make suggestions about products
- offer product samples to customers
- prepare bakery items including wedding cakes per customer requests
- recommend bakery items to customers
- check product quality to ensure freshness
- review sell by dates and take appropriate action
- use bakery equipment including refrigerators, freezers and ovens according to guidelines
- decorate cakes, pastries, cupcakes, cookies and other baked goods
- label, stock, sign, and inventory department merchandise
- report ordering and shipping discrepancies
- understand store layout and assist customers in locating products
- maintain awareness of inventory and note discrepancies
- adhere to health and safety regulations
- reinforce safety programs and identify unsafe conditions
- practice preventive maintenance and report equipment repair needs
- report safety risks, illegal activities, and accidents
- perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
