The Bakery Associate will play a vital role in assisting the department manager to reach sales and profit goals while strictly adhering to all quality assurance standards. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and clean work environment where customers feel valued and appreciated. They will provide knowledgeable assistance about bakery products, including decorating cakes, pastries, cupcakes, and cookies, and preparing bakery items such as wedding cakes tailored to customer requests. By offering product samples and making informed recommendations, the associate will help customers explore new products and ensure their satisfaction. They will also be responsible for stock management activities, including labeling, signing, inventory checks, and reporting any discrepancies to ensure product quality and freshness.

Furthermore, the Bakery Associate will uphold food safety guidelines and comply with all local, state, and federal health codes, reinforcing safety protocols and practicing preventive maintenance on bakery equipment. This includes proper use of bakery appliances like ovens, refrigerators, and freezers. Monitoring theft risks, maintaining loss prevention standards, and reporting any issues or illegal activities to management are also critical components of this role. The position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to perform well under pressure, ensuring every customer's experience is positive from start to finish.
