We are currently seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Bakery Associate to join our team. In this role, you will be instrumental in creating an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. You will assist the department manager in achieving sales and profit goals by monitoring quality assurance standards within the bakery department. This position demands a strong commitment to maintaining product quality, cleanliness, and safety while upholding the company's core values. The ideal candidate will have retail experience or bakery and cake decorating skills and be capable of handling stressful situations with ease. Effective communication skills and basic math knowledge are essential. Bilingual abilities or proficiency in a second language are considered a plus.

Key responsibilities include greeting and assisting customers, answering questions about bakery products and other store offerings, and making product recommendations to meet customer needs. You will also be responsible for preparing bakery items, including wedding cakes, using proper bakery equipment, and offering product samples to enhance customers' experience. Maintaining inventory, labeling, stocking, and signing bakery merchandise to ensure proper product availability and freshness is critical. You will monitor sell-by dates and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal health regulations and company policies.

This role also involves decorating cakes, pastries, cupcakes, cookies, and other bakery items. You will play a vital role in loss prevention, safety, and food safety efforts by following established procedures and reporting any discrepancies or unsafe conditions to management. Your proactive approach to equipment maintenance and preventive measures will support smooth operations and high product quality standards.

The position emphasizes teamwork, safety awareness, and engagement with customers and associates to foster a positive work environment. You are expected to develop in-depth knowledge of the store layout, seasonal promotions, and special advertisements to efficiently assist customers in locating products and making informed purchasing decisions. Adhering to labor control, expense and supply controls, and merchandising standards is necessary for operational success.
