Additionally, you will engage with customers by answering inquiries, suggesting products, and providing samples to create a memorable shopping experience.
This position requires a balance of technical skill and customer service excellence. You will operate kitchen utensils, ovens, slicers, and refrigeration units while adhering to food safety regulations, including maintaining food temperature logs and checking sell-by dates to ensure freshness. Your role also involves inventory management, product labeling, packaging, and stock checking to ensure the bakery department runs smoothly and efficiently. Communication skills are essential, as you will promote trust and respect among associates and interact directly with customers who may speak different languages.
To thrive in this role, you must be adaptable to stressful situations, have basic math knowledge, and obtain a current food handler’s permit upon employment. Preferred qualifications include experience in bakery and retail environments, plus the ability to communicate in a second language.
