This role centers around creating outstanding customer experiences through exceptional service in the bakery department. The successful candidate will establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages customers to return, embody the core company values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety. The position supports the department manager in meeting sales and profit goals, monitoring quality assurance, and promoting a customer-first strategy. Responsibilities include preparing bakery items according to customer requests, using proper bakery equipment, offering product samples, and informing customers about specials. The role also demands maintaining freshness and portion control to minimize waste, recommending items to help customers meet their needs, and using all bakery equipment following company guidelines. Job Duties
- Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store
- Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and be able to respond to questions and make suggestions about products
- Prepare bakery items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment
- Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or products they inquire about
- Inform customers of bakery specials
- Provide customers with fresh products that they have ordered and the correct portion size to prevent shrink
- Recommend bakery items to customers to ensure they get the products they want and need
