This role is part of the Bakery team, responsible for supporting a dynamic and engaging retail environment by ensuring that the bakery area is well-maintained, stocked, and presented according to Whole Foods Market’s high standards. This position involves receiving deliveries, preparing bakery products, maintaining clean and appealing displays, and actively engaging with customers to provide exceptional service. Working in this role, Team Members contribute to maintaining a fresh, inviting bakery department that supports the company’s commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. The role requires teamwork, a proactive attitude toward sales, and adherence to all health and safety regulations and store procedures. The position is hourly, with a pay range of $19.00 to $25.40 based on experience and performance. Job Requirements
- No prior retail experience required
- must be able to lift 50 pounds
- ability to stand or walk for 6-8 hours during an 8-hour workday
- hand use with single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
- capability to perform bending, twisting, squatting and reaching motions
- exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
- ability to work in varying temperatures including freezing and refrigerated conditions and above 90 degrees Fahrenheit
- able to work in wet and dry conditions
- ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
- ability to use tools and equipment such as knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery
- may require ladder use

Job Duties
- Ensure a fresh and appealing display by keeping cases and shelves clean and well stocked by front-facing, checking codes, rotating and removing out-of-date products
- stock and clean shelves, bins, and display areas
- monitor and prevent spoilage and communicate waste to buyers, Team Leaders, and shift supervisor
- maintain back stock in good order
- assist with sampling program, keeping sample areas full, clean and appealing
- assist with periodic inventory checks
- arrive to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work
- provide excellent customer service, address needs of customers in a timely and effective manner and model suggestive selling techniques
- maximize sales potential through effective and proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product
- follow and comply, or ensure compliance, with established procedures, including weights and measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices
- maintain, or ensure maintenance of, a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment
- perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned
- ensure accuracy of signs and pricing
- immediately report safety hazards and violations
- perform other duties as assigned by store, regional, or national leadership
