As a member of the Bakery team at Whole Foods Market, your role is far more than just preparing and selling baked goods. This position entails supporting the Bakery department by receiving shipments, preparing products, maintaining an attractive and fresh display, and providing excellent customer service consistent with Whole Foods Market’s standards. You will be responsible for breaking down deliveries, stocking shelves, and ensuring all bakery items are fresh, well-merchandised, and meet quality assurance requirements. This is an hourly role with a wage range of $17.00 to $25.40 per hour, depending on experience. Job Requirements
- No prior retail experience required
- must be able to lift 50 pounds
- able to stand or walk 6-8 hours in an 8-hour workday
- able to use hands for single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
- able to bend, twist, squat and reach
- exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
- able to tolerate temperatures up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit
- able to work in wet and dry conditions
- able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- able to use tools and equipment including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery
- may require use of ladders

Job Duties
- Ensures a fresh and appealing display by keeping cases and shelves clean and well stocked by front-facing, checking codes, rotating and removing out-of-date products
- stocks and cleans shelves, bins, and display areas
- monitors and prevents spoilage and communicates waste to buyers, Team Leaders, and shift supervisor
- maintains back stock in good order
- assists with sampling program, keeping sample areas full, clean and appealing
- assists with periodic inventory checks
- arrives to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work
- provides excellent customer service, addresses needs of customers in a timely and effective manner and models suggestive selling techniques
- maximizes sales potential through effective and proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product
- follows and complies with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices
- maintains a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment
- performs opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned
- immediately reports safety hazards and violations
- performs other duties as assigned by store, regional, or national leadership
