This role is for a Bakery Team Member at Whole Foods Market, a position that plays an integral part in delivering an exceptional customer experience and maintaining the high standards associated with the brand. The Bakery Team Member is responsible for supporting all bakery operations including receiving and preparing products, maintaining fresh and appealing bakery displays, and ensuring excellent customer service. This entails performing various tasks such as breaking down deliveries, stocking shelves, rotating products to minimize waste, and assisting with sampling programs. Job Requirements
- No prior retail experience required
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Standing/walking 6-8 hours during an 8-hour shift
- Ability to perform hand use motions such as single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
- Ability to perform bending, twisting, squatting and reaching
- Able to work in wet and dry conditions
- Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
- Ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to use tools and equipment including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery
- May require use of ladders

Job Duties
- Ensure a fresh and appealing bakery display by keeping cases and shelves clean and well stocked by front-facing, checking codes, rotating and removing out-of-date products
- Stock and clean shelves, bins, and display areas
- Monitor and prevent spoilage and communicate waste to buyers, team leaders, and shift supervisor
- Maintain back stock in good order
- Assist with sampling program, keeping sample areas full, clean and appealing
- Assist with periodic inventory checks
- Arrive to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work
- Provide excellent customer service, address needs of customers in a timely and effective manner and model suggestive selling techniques
- Maximize sales potential through effective and proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product
- Follow and comply with established procedures, including weights and measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices
- Maintain a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment and maintain equipment in accordance with cleanliness and safety standards
- Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned
