The Bakery Supervisor role at Palermo's Pizza is a full-time salaried leadership position pivotal to the success of bakery operations. At the West Milwaukee site, the supervisor will spend most of their time on the production floor, actively leading bakery teams to meet production, quality, safety, and efficiency objectives while fostering an engaged and high-performing team culture. This role requires flexible scheduling to support a 24/7 manufacturing operation, including the possibility of extended hours, weekend shifts, and off-shift work according to business needs.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop employees by providing coaching, training, and ongoing feedback that drives accountability and performance improvements. You will help manage employee onboarding processes, address attendance and behavioral issues, and ensure compliance with food safety regulations including GMP, USDA, BRC, and workplace safety standards. Additionally, this position involves partnering with multiple departments such as Quality, Maintenance, Warehouse, and Sanitation to troubleshoot problems and participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing safety, quality, delivery, and cost efficiency.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 3 years of manufacturing experience preferably in bakery or food production
- At least 1 year of leadership or supervisory experience in a production environment
- Ability to coach employees and drive accountability
- Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office
- Flexibility to work varying schedules including extended hours, weekends, or off-shifts
- Ability to comply with food safety and workplace safety regulations
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to participate in continuous improvement efforts
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 3+ years of manufacturing experience, preferably in bakery or food production
- 1+ year of leadership or supervisory experience in a production environment
- Demonstrated ability to coach employees, drive accountability, and achieve operational goals
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office
- Experience in frozen food manufacturing
- Post-secondary education in leadership, business, or a related field
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills
- Experience working in USDA, OSHA, GMP, and BRC regulated environments
- Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives
Job Duties
- Lead daily bakery operations to achieve production, quality, safety, and efficiency goals
- Coach, develop, and provide ongoing feedback to bakery associates
- Establish clear expectations and drive accountability for performance
- Support employee onboarding, training, and development initiatives
- Address attendance, behavioral, and performance concerns in partnership with Human Resources
- Monitor staffing levels and coordinate resources to support operational needs
- Ensure compliance with food safety, GMP, USDA, BRC, and workplace safety requirements
- Partner with Quality, Maintenance, Warehouse, Sanitation, and other departments to resolve issues and improve performance
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance
- Foster an engaged, team-oriented culture aligned with Palermo's values
