We are currently seeking motivated and dedicated individuals to join our team as Management Trainees specifically for the position of Bakery Supervisor. This full-time role offers an exceptional opportunity to grow and develop leadership skills within the grocery retail sector. Management Trainees will undergo a comprehensive training and evaluation program lasting approximately 6 to 8 months. During this period, trainees will receive hands-on experience and guidance in managing bakery operations, developing product knowledge, mastering standard operating procedures (SOPs), and learning effective employee management techniques. Upon successful completion of training, candidates will be assigned to a store where they will take on key supervisory responsibilities.

As a Bakery Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in managing daily department operations to ensure compliance with company standards, maintaining product freshness, and optimizing inventory through smart ordering and stock management. You'll collaborate closely with store management teams to design and implement promotional plans aimed at meeting sales goals. The role requires attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to lead and motivate a team. In addition to ensuring a clean and safe work environment, you will be responsible for scheduling, employee attendance, coaching, mentoring, and performance reviews.

This position requires someone with excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to work in varying temperatures, and a readiness to adapt to a flexible work schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays. Candidates must also be willing to travel between stores for training purposes and potentially relocate if necessary. Proficiency in computer programs related to inventory and pricing, as well as familiarity with vendors and local product trends, will be advantageous. Bilingual candidates fluent in English and either Chinese or Spanish are highly preferred.

Job Duties

  • undergo training and evaluations for 6 to 8 months
  • manage the department's daily operation and meet company standards
  • work with store management team to design store promotion plans and meet sales targets
  • maintain product display, ensure freshness, and keep shelves fully-stocked
  • order products based on inventory, promotions, and delivery schedules
  • receive poultry shipments and check quantity and quality
  • control inventory movement including rotating product display and organizing freezer and cooler
  • use label updating and price sign printing computer programs
  • provide schedules to employees and manage attendance
  • work on coaching, operational training, mentoring, and performance review
  • maintain a safe and clean workplace
  • perform other duties as needed
