Bakery Sales Associate

This position is a part-time role, offering 12-26 hours per week, with shifts primarily in the evenings and on weekends. The hourly wage ranges from $15.00 to $18.51, making it an attractive opportunity for individuals seeking flexible work hours combined with competitive pay. The selected candidate will be integral to the Bakery department, responsible for the sales and handling of fresh bakery products while providing remarkable customer service.

In this role, the bakery associate will engage directly with customers, helping them select products that best fit their needs by sharing product knowledge and recommendations. The bakery associate will also support daily bakery operations, including packaging, labeling, stocking shelves and cases, and preparing products for baking and sales. This includes proofing and baking items, mixing and scooping cookies, assisting with cake and special orders, and delivering top-notch customer service consistently.

The associate will be expected to ensure the Bakery department remains visually appealing, consistently clean, and meets all company standards for sanitation and appearance. This includes washing and putting away baking trays and other equipment and adhering strictly to food safety standards with a required Food Handler's Permit. The candidate will also play a vital role in managing inventory by monitoring product assortment, re-stocking the department, following production sheets to minimize waste, and rotating products according to their expiration dates.

Teamwork is key, as this position requires close collaboration with bakery managers, bakers, cake decorators, and artisan bakers to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction. The position demands strong organizational skills, the ability to accept constructive feedback, a positive and mission-driven attitude, and a passion for bakery products. Additionally, physical demands of the job include standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds, often in varying conditions such as hot, cold, or slippery environments.
