Job Description

Franz Family Bakery, a cornerstone of the Pacific Northwest's baking tradition since 1906, has grown to become one of the most successful bakery companies in the United States. Renowned for its commitment to quality and superior baking processes, Franz produces a wide variety of baked goods under multiple premium labels, maintaining a dedication to quality ingredients and outstanding product standards. With a workforce exceeding 4,000 employees, the bakery distributes its products across several states, including Alaska, Idaho, California, Utah, Montana, Oregon, and Washington, making it a prominent name in the industry.

As a company rooted in over a century of baking heritage, Franz Family Bakery combines traditional methods with modern innovations to meet the evolving tastes and demands of consumers. The company not only focuses on delivering excellent baked products but also emphasizes fostering a supportive and growth-oriented work environment for its employees. By joining Franz, employees become part of a dynamic team that values commitment, integrity, and continuous improvement.

Currently, Franz Bakery is seeking motivated and hardworking Bakery Production workers to join their fast-paced and highly productive team. This full-time, hourly position offers competitive wages starting at $22.75 per hour, paid weekly, with comprehensive benefits including growth and development opportunities, generous holiday and vacation time, comprehensive healthcare, profit sharing and a 401(k) retirement plan, and discounts on Franz products.

The Bakery Production role is essential to maintaining the high standards of product quality and safety. Workers will assist in various tasks associated with the production of bread and other baked goods. This includes manual labor tasks such as grasping, lifting, moving, placing, and stacking items related to production processes. The role demands a quick learner who can adapt to varied tasks daily, depending on production requirements, all while adhering strictly to Safe Quality Food (SQF) food safety procedures.

Daily responsibilities include identifying, counting, sorting, and visually inspecting bakery items to ensure they meet quality standards. Employees also record product analysis data and manage workflow efficiently from production conveyors. The role requires adherence to safety practices and a commitment to upholding Franz’s core values in every task performed. This position offers the chance to develop valuable experience in a renowned bakery environment while contributing to the production of premium bakery goods enjoyed by customers across the region.

Shift assignments for new employees may vary and include any day of the week—from Monday through Sunday—and any shift—day, swing, or graveyard—based on production needs. A set schedule is determined through the union bid process, ensuring fair and equitable work distribution. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, industrial or manufacturing environment and who are committed to reliable attendance and flexibility in work hours and tasks.

Overall, the Bakery Production Worker role at Franz Family Bakery is an excellent opportunity for those seeking to build a stable career in manufacturing and bakery production, backed by a reputable company with a rich heritage and strong community presence.
