The Bakery Production Baker role is a pivotal position within Westborn Market’s bakery department, reporting directly to the Executive Pastry Chef. This non-exempt position entails assisting in the preparation and baking of various in-house bakery products, such as granola, cookie doughs, cupcake batter, brownies, and bars, following precise recipes for large-scale production. The baker will be responsible for maintaining quality and consistency in all baked goods, ensuring they meet the market’s high standards. The schedule includes working Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and one weekend day, with the fifth day offering flexibility to accommodate personal needs or business demands. Ideal candidates will have previous baking experience and possess the ability to work independently, manage their responsibilities with minimal supervision, and maintain a positive and helpful attitude throughout their shifts.

Job Duties

Prepares bakery items per written recipe and quantity needed as directed by Head Baker
Packages and prices product as needed
Examines and uses dated labels, stores incoming food supplies in storage and refrigeration areas appropriately
Stocks and rotates bakery supplies as directed
Operates kitchen equipment such as proof boxes, oven, mixers, etc
Maintains a clean and organized work area free of hazards
Keeps a positive and helpful attitude during length of shift
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
