Job Qualifications
- knowledge and prior experience in making bakery products including dough mixing, cutting, rolling, laying, forming, filling, shaping, slicing
- ability to prepare various fillings such as fruits, meat, paste, custards
- knowledge of controlling fermentation and baking time and monitoring temperatures
- skills in decorating bakery products
- knowledge of workplace health and safety and food safety including Food Safe Certification
- understanding of relevant tools and equipment
- good communication skills, proficiency in English with Chinese (Cantonese or Mandarin) an asset
- good organizational and problem-solving skills
- ability to work effectively in a team
- flexibility to work various shifts including weekdays, weekends, holidays, mornings and evenings
Job Duties
- produce the correct quantity of assigned bakery products based on orders received
- perform production duties such as dough mixing, cutting, rolling, laying, forming, filling, shaping, slicing
- prepare various fillings including fruits, meat, paste, custards
- control fermentation and baking time and monitor temperature of cooler and oven
- decorate bread, cake and other pastries
- control product quality, freshness, inventory level and wastage
- maintain cleanliness, hygiene, equipment and tools and ensure workplace safety of the production area
- answer customers' enquiries
