The Bakery Oven Operator position at El Rancho Supermercado plays a crucial role in the daily operations of the bakery department. This role is primarily responsible for the production and baking of various bread products in preparation for the store's opening, ensuring that customers are met with fresh, high-quality bakery items. The operator must maintain careful oversight of the baking process, verifying the quality and production standards of the bakery items. This includes keeping the bread stocked in showcases, tables, and bowl boxes while managing inventory to prevent shortages or waste.

In addition to practical baking duties, the Bakery Oven Operator must possess comprehensive knowledge of basic bakery products, including breads, cookies, pan dulce, and special order cakes, and is proficient in using standard baking production equipment. The operator works closely with the baking team and management to communicate any needs, address guest concerns, and help fulfill orders efficiently and accurately.

Customer service is a significant component of the role. Job Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs

Job Qualifications

  • Valid Food Handlers Card
  • customer service and retail experience desirable

Job Duties

  • Greet and interact with customers to address questions or concerns in a friendly, service-oriented manner
  • organize products in display case and tables while ensuring fully stocked cases
  • support team with baking various breads, cookies, and desserts, including pan dulce
  • possess knowledge of basic baked products and standard baking production equipment, ability to perform advance baking methods, multitask
  • effectively communicate with management and baking team to fulfill and address issues or needs requested by guests or employees
  • conduct inventory on a regular basis to ensure proper levels
  • maintain standards for quality, cleanliness, organization, customer service, safety, loss prevention, sanitation, department conditions, and food safety
  • stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy while examining rotation of bakery products and discarding outdated or spoiled items
  • work with various professional bakery equipment, including heat sources, mixers, and blenders
  • take food orders in person and by telephone
  • perform all other duties as assigned
