The position of Bakery Oven Operator at El Rancho Supermercado is a vital role that supports the bakery department by producing fresh baked goods such as bread, cookies, and desserts for the store's opening hours. This role involves managing the baking process from start to finish to ensure quality and timely production. The Bakery Oven Operator will be responsible for reviewing the production and maintaining the quality of the bakery items while ensuring all products are adequately stocked and presented in showcases, tables, and bowl boxes throughout the day. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • previous baking or bakery experience preferred
  • ability to work early morning shifts
  • physical ability to stand and walk continuously during shifts
  • ability to lift up to 25 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs
  • valid food handlers card required

Job Duties

  • Greet and interact with customers to address questions or concerns in a friendly, service-oriented manner
  • organize products in display case and tables while ensuring fully stocked cases
  • support team with baking various breads, cookies, and desserts, including pan dulce
  • possess knowledge of basic baked products and standard baking production equipment
  • ability to perform advanced baking methods and multitask
  • effectively communicate with management and baking team
  • conduct inventory on a regular basis to ensure proper levels
  • maintain standards for quality, cleanliness, organization, customer service, safety, loss prevention, sanitation, department conditions, and food safety
  • stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy while examining product rotation and discarding outdated or spoiled items
  • work with various bakery equipment including heat sources, mixers, and blenders
  • take food orders in person and by telephone
  • perform all other duties as assigned
