The Bakery Manager role at Sprouts Farmers Market is an exciting leadership position focused on managing the Bakery Department’s overall operations and performance. This includes overseeing the baking, production, and display of bakery products such as cookies, bread, and muffins, ensuring high standards of quality and consistency. Job Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age
Have a minimum of 2 years' retail grocery experience
Be dependable and reliable
Able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
Show outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude
Have good communication skills
Able to give and take direction in a team environment
Able to answer phones and take special orders
Perform general housekeeping duties including cleaning and sanitizing work areas
Able to operate knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
Able to stand for up to 3 hours continuously for a total of 8 hours per shift
Able to lift and transfer items up to 40 lbs without mechanical assistance
Adhere to all safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations
Achieve and maintain a Food Handler's permit
Possess a working knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers, and financial goals

Job Qualifications

Use knowledge of scales and weight measures to accurately weigh and label products
Possess a working knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers, and financial goals
Adhere to all safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations
Achieve and maintain a Food Handler's permit

Job Duties

Manage the daily output baking, production, and display of bakery products
Supervise and monitor product quality and consistency
Track inventory and manage the bakery's budget
Evaluate department conditions and operations to determine strengths and areas for improvement
Develop improved practices and procedures
Ensure company standards for safety, proper food handling practices, sanitation, and productivity are maintained
Responsible for correct ordering, receiving, unloading, and storage
Execute rotation of merchandise and building of displays
Manage department inventory, in-stocks, pricing integrity, merchandising, labor, and other operational processes to Sprouts standards
Plan and order according to company standards to maximize sales and gross profit
Engage and evaluate team members through coaching, feedback, and one-on-one development discussions
Make recommendations on merit increases via bi-annual performance reviews
Attend and participate in in-store meetings regularly
Recruit, hire and make promotion/transfer decisions in collaboration with the Store Manager
Exercise independent judgment to address Team Member concerns
Take and document corrective actions including coaching, counseling, progressive discipline, suspension, or termination
Create and adjust schedules and staffing levels to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency
Communicate standards, expectations, policy changes, and product knowledge to team members
Lead a team that collaborates to deliver the finest quality products, highest level of service, and greatest customer experience
Serve as a Key Carrier and/or act as Manager on Duty (MOD) as needed
