Job Description

The hiring establishment is a well-established retail store known for its exceptional customer service and community presence. This company operates in a dynamic retail environment, where excellent team leadership and customer engagement are paramount to success. Employing a Store Manager, this business values flexibility, a positive work atmosphere, and high standards in service and operational excellence. Located in a vibrant neighborhood with a diverse customer base, the store emphasizes creating a welcoming environment where customers feel valued and employees are motivated to perform at their best. The store offers competitive compensation with a starting salary of $45,000, supplemented by tips earned from working closely with customers. Employees benefit from a flexible work schedule ranging from early mornings starting at 5:30 a.m. to evenings until 7 p.m., allowing for work-life balance and accommodating individual availability.

As a Store Manager, the role involves taking charge as the model of excellent customer service and effective team leadership. You will be the face of the store, setting the tone for both customer and employee experiences. Your responsibilities include building, training, and maintaining a motivated and high-performing team. Strong customer service skills are essential as you will handle customer complaints and resolve issues promptly, both in person and digitally. Leading the team toward achieving financial goals is a key part of the job, achieved by fostering a collaborative and high-performance work culture. The position requires familiarity with retail technology, including Square POS or similar systems, to manage sales operations effectively.

A crucial element of this role is coaching your team for continuous growth and success. You will conduct employee reviews, provide guidance, corrections when necessary, and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. Managing inventory, ordering supplies timely, and nurturing vendor relationships are vital tasks to maintain smooth operations without overstocking. Scheduling and payroll duties for a team of 5 to 10 people fall under your purview, masterfully balancing staffing needs and time-off requests with scheduling software.

Health and safety standards are strictly upheld under your leadership, ensuring all inspections are passed and operational best practices are maintained. The role demands physical stamina, including the ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 pounds, and work longer shifts as needed. Effective communication skills are required to collaborate across departments and to provide clear directives to staff. Multilingual abilities, especially in Spanish, Creole, or Swedish, are a significant advantage given the diverse customer demographics served. Your efforts will contribute significantly to a positive shopping experience and an efficient, harmonious workplace.
