The Bakery Manager at Sprouts Farmers Market is a pivotal role responsible for managing the Bakery Department's overall performance. This full-time position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $19.50 to $29.15, reflecting the applicant's experience and qualifications. The Bakery Manager leads the department in producing a diverse variety of baked goods including cookies, bread, and muffins using proven ingredient recipes that ensure quality and consistency. Key responsibilities include overseeing the daily baking output, production, and display, tracking inventory, managing budgets, ensuring compliance with food safety standards, and maintaining merchandising excellence.

Job Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have a minimum of 2 years retail grocery experience
- Be dependable and reliable
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Exhibit outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude
- Possess good communication skills
- Ability to answer phones and take special orders
- Perform cleaning and sanitizing of work areas
- Able to operate bakery equipment such as knives, scales, and pallet jacks
- Ability to stand for up to 3 hours continuously
- Capable of transferring trays and items weighing up to 40 lbs without mechanical assistance
- Adhere to safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations
- Maintain a Food Handlers permit
- Understand and utilize personnel and financial reports
Job Qualifications
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have a minimum of 2 years retail grocery experience
- Demonstrate outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude towards team members and customers
- Possess good communication skills and the ability to give and take direction in a team environment
- Be able to answer phones and take special orders
- Perform general housekeeping duties, including cleaning and sanitizing work areas
- Ability to operate knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
- Knowledge of scales and weight measures for accurate weighing and labeling
- Understanding of personnel, margin, and sales reports as well as financial goals
Job Duties
- Manage the daily output baking, production, and display of bakery products
- Supervise and monitor product quality and consistency, track inventory, and manage the bakery's budget
- Evaluate department conditions and operations to determine strengths and areas for improvement
- Develop improved practices and procedures
- Ensure company standards for safety, proper food handling practices, sanitation, and productivity are maintained
- Responsible for correct ordering, receiving, unloading, and storage
- Execute rotation of merchandise and building of displays
- Manage department inventory, in-stocks, pricing integrity, merchandising, labor, and other operational processes to Sprouts standards
- Plan and order according to company standards to maximize sales and gross profit
- Engage and evaluate team members through coaching, feedback, and one-on-one development discussions
- Make recommendations on merit increases by completing bi-annual performance reviews
- Attend and participate in-store meetings regularly
- Recruit, hire, and make promotion/transfer decisions with the Store Manager
- Exercise independent judgment to address team member concerns
- Take and document corrective actions including coaching, counseling, progressive discipline, suspension, or termination
- Create and adjust schedules and staffing levels to ensure maximum productivity
- Communicate standards, expectations, policy changes, and product knowledge to team members
- Lead a team to deliver high-quality products and excellent customer service
- Serve as Key Carrier or Manager on Duty as needed
