Job Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have a minimum of 2 years retail grocery experience
- Be dependable and reliable
- Have the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Possess outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude
- Have good communication skills
- Be able to answer phones and take special orders
- Perform general housekeeping duties including cleaning and sanitizing work areas
- Be able to operate bakery equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
- Be able to stand for extended periods and lift items up to 40 lbs
- Adhere to safety, health, and weights and measures regulations
- Hold a Food Handler’s permit
- Possess knowledge of personnel and financial reports
Job Qualifications
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have a minimum of 2 years retail grocery experience
- Be dependable and reliable
- Have the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Possess outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude towards team members and customers
- Have good communication skills and the ability to give and take direction
- Be able to answer phones and take special orders
- Perform general housekeeping and sanitation duties
- Be able to operate bakery equipment including knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
- Use knowledge of scales and weight measures to accurately weigh and label products
- Be able to stand for up to 3 hours continuously within an 8-hour shift
- Be able to transfer bakery trays up to 5 lbs and items up to 40 lbs repeatedly
- Adhere to safety, health, and weights and measures regulations
- Hold a Food Handler’s permit
- Possess working knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers, and financial goals
Job Duties
- Manage the daily output baking, production, and display of bakery products
- Supervise and monitor product quality and consistency, track inventory, and manage the bakery’s budget
- Evaluate department conditions and operations to determine strengths and areas for improvement
- Ensure company standards for safety, proper food handling practices, sanitation, and productivity are maintained
- Responsible for correct ordering, receiving, unloading, and storage
- Execute rotation of merchandise and building of displays
- Manage department inventory, in-stocks, pricing integrity, merchandising, labor, and other operational processes to Sprouts standards
- Plan and order according to company standards to maximize sales and gross profit
- Engage and evaluate team members through coaching, feedback, and one-on-one development discussions, and make recommendations on merit increases via completing the bi-annual performance review process
- Regularly attend and participate at in-store meetings
- Recruit, hire and make promotion/transfer decisions in collaboration with the Store Manager
- Confidently exercise independent judgment to address team member concerns
- Take and document corrective actions when needed, including collaboration with business and HR partners in managing performance to include coaching, counseling, progressive discipline, suspension, or termination
- Ensure maximum productivity and efficiency by creating and adjusting schedules and staffing levels
- Communicate standards, expectations, policy changes, and product knowledge to team members
- Lead a team that collaborates to deliver fine quality product, service, and customer experience
- Serve as a Key Carrier and/or act as a Manager on Duty as needed
