Job Duties

  • Champion corporate and division customer service programs to meet or exceed division customer service goals
  • Plan, organize and direct day-to-day operations of the Bakery Department using independent judgment
  • Conduct daily inspections of all Bakery sections ensuring compliance with quality, sanitation, safety and security
  • Oversee and assist bakery duties including proofing, baking, decorating, slicing and packaging
  • Implement effective promotional and seasonal displays
  • Prevent shrink and control expenses
  • Maintain and monitor daily logs, purchase reports, sales and labor paperwork
  • Order, check, receive and control inventory maintaining product quantity and freshness
  • Stock and rotate products and organize department coolers and freezers
  • Conduct periodic inventories and maintain accurate department records
  • Ensure bakery product quality, baking and decorating standards are met
  • Ensure proper merchandising of products including compliance with labeling laws and company policies
  • Follow company policies in handling quick sale items
  • Comply with health and food safety standards
  • Assist customers with special orders and product suggestions
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of sales floor, work areas and equipment
  • Handle customer relations and engage in suggestive selling
  • Monitor daily logs and reports
  • Attend training and sales meetings
  • Implement emergency procedures for equipment/software malfunctions
  • Supervise, motivate, direct, train and participate in hiring of bakery personnel
  • Monitor associate performance and recommend personnel actions
  • Schedule staff ensuring adequate coverage
  • Communicate sales goals and performance to team
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures
  • Resolve associate complaints and report serious policy violations to Store Director
  • Respond to incoming calls and resolve customer complaints
  • Perform all job duties with honesty and integrity in compliance with policies.
