The Bakery Manager role at Sprouts Farmers Market is a pivotal position responsible for the total performance and management of the Bakery Department. This full-time position offers competitive hourly pay ranging from $18.55 to $27.75, depending on the applicant's experience and qualifications. The role involves overseeing bakery production, quality control, inventory management, and budgeting. The Bakery Manager also leads the department by supervising bakery staff, ensuring compliance with safety and sanitation standards, and maintaining company policies. Job Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Minimum 2 years retail grocery experience
  • Ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays

  • Food Handlers permit

  • Adherence to safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations

Job Qualifications

  • Be at least 18 years of age with a minimum of 2 years retail grocery experience
  • Have good communication skills and the ability to give and take direction
  • Possess outgoing and friendly behavior along with a positive attitude towards Team Members and customers
  • Be dependable and reliable with the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Be able to operate bakery equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
  • Have working knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers, and financial goals
  • Be physically able to stand for extended periods, lift and transfer items up to 40 lbs, and perform bakery tasks efficiently
  • Adhere to all safety, health, and food handling regulations and maintain a valid Food Handlers permit

Job Duties

  • Manage the daily output baking, production, and display of bakery products
  • Supervise and monitor product quality and consistency, track inventory, and manage the bakery's budget
  • Evaluate department conditions and operations to determine strengths and areas for improvement
  • Develop improved practices and procedures
  • Ensure company standards for safety, proper food handling practices, sanitation, and productivity are maintained
  • Responsible for correct ordering, receiving, unloading, and storage
  • Execute rotation of merchandise and building of displays
  • Manage department inventory, in-stocks, pricing integrity, merchandising, labor, and other operational processes to Sprouts standards
  • Plan and order according to company standards to maximize sales and gross profit
  • Engage and evaluate team members through coaching, feedback, and one-on-one development discussions
  • Make recommendations on merit increases through bi-annual performance reviews
  • Regularly attend and participate at in-store meetings
  • Recruit, hire and make promotion/transfer decisions with Store Manager collaboration
  • Exercise independent judgment to address Team Member concerns
  • Take and document corrective actions when needed, including coaching, counseling, progressive discipline
  • Create and adjust schedules and staffing levels to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency
  • Communicate standards, expectations, policy changes, and product knowledge to team members
  • Lead a team to deliver quality products, service, and customer experience
  • Serve as a Key Carrier or Manager on Duty as needed
