The company is currently seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join its team. This full-time role offers competitive wages ranging from $40.15 to $47.15 per hour, inclusive of base pay and additional premiums for certifications and shift differentials. The Maintenance Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the bakery’s production equipment, which includes both mechanical and electrical components. The primary responsibility is to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment to minimize downtime and maintain productivity. This position requires someone who is proactive, safety-conscious, and able to work efficiently under the demands of a fast-paced production environment.

In this role, the Maintenance Technician will be tasked with maintaining clean and safe work areas, following company Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and complying with federal and state safety regulations. Accurate record-keeping of maintenance activities and parts requests is essential, as is responding promptly to line stoppages with a sense of urgency. The technician will provide emergency repairs and technical assistance as needed, working closely with the Chief Engineer and the maintenance team. Flexibility to work any shift, including holidays, and reliable attendance are mandatory due to the 24/7 nature of the production facility. Additionally, joining the union within 30 days of hire is required.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Forklift license or ability to obtain one
  • LME license preferred
  • PLC experience preferred including connecting, programming & troubleshooting
  • Previous experience in similar production line equipment and facilities at a large commercial or artisan bakery preferred or similar equipment maintenance of industrial, manufacturing or production-line equipment
  • Must be able to work any day, including holidays, or any shift
  • Must have reliable attendance to meet employer's attendance standards for 24/7 production facility
  • Must join union within 30 days of hire

Job Duties

  • Responsible for preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of all pieces of equipment within the bakery including production equipment

  • Works in a safe and efficient manner and in compliance with federal and state requirements at all times
  • Maintains accurate and timely records of work performed on work orders, maintenance calls, and preventative maintenance reports
  • Prepares specific and accurate parts request forms
  • Responds to line stoppage calls with a sense of urgency and ownership
