The Bakery Department Lead role at The Fresh Market is an exciting opportunity for an individual passionate about food and leadership. This position involves assisting the Bakery Department Manager in delivering the store's mission by leading the bakery team with care and purpose. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting a productive, customer-oriented department that looks its best and provides a superior guest experience. This leader will work side by side with team members and managers to coach staff, manage daily operations, and uphold high standards for service and appearance. Key responsibilities include monitoring labor schedules, maintaining inventory accuracy, minimizing shrink, and acting as a resource and guide in the absence of the Bakery Department Manager. The role requires flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends, holidays, and evenings.

Beyond operational duties, the Bakery Department Lead will model impeccable hospitality by engaging guests and ensuring positive shopping experiences. They will assist with merchandising and promotional plans designed to maximize sales and profitability while analyzing department performance metrics. Job Requirements

  • 1+ years of progressive management experience in supermarkets, retail, restaurants, hotels, or general business
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams
  • Proven ability to deliver an exceptional guest experience while achieving performance goals
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Basic proficiency with POS systems, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must be 21 years of age or older

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge of inventory management systems and financial reporting
  • Bilingual skills a plus

Job Duties
