This role is an opportunity to join the Whole Foods Market team as a Bakery Team Supervisor. This position plays a crucial part in ensuring the smooth day-to-day function of the bakery department, working closely with the Bakery Team Leader and Associate Team Leader to maintain outstanding bakery, coffee, and juice displays that are both compelling and inviting for customers. The Bakery Team Supervisor assists in scheduling and supervising team members, fostering a positive work environment built on teamwork, respect, and high morale. With a hands-on approach, this role ensures inventory is properly stocked and rotated, oversees training efforts, and helps open and close the department following established procedures. This position demands excellent organizational and leadership skills to support a high-performance team, minimize turnover, and consistently deliver exceptional customer service.

Job Requirements
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- standing/walking 6-8 hours in an 8-hour work day
- hand use includes single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
- work requires bending, twisting, squatting and reaching
- exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
- exposure to temperatures up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit
- ability to work in wet and dry conditions
- ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
- ability to use tools and equipment including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery
- may require use of ladders

- Extensive knowledge of bakery team procedures and policies
- strong demonstrated organizational and time management skills
- excellent interpersonal, motivational, team building, and customer relationship skills
- capable of teaching others in a positive and constructive manner
- thorough product knowledge
- advanced knowledge of regulatory and safety policies and procedures
- proficient mathematical skills for assessing financial performance, monitoring profitability, and managing inventory
- demonstrated decision-making ability, leadership skills, and ability to prioritize and delegate
- proficiency with email, Microsoft Office, and operations-related applications
- 12+ months retail experience
Job Duties
- Supervises and delegates tasks to Bakery Team Members
- works with Bakery Trainer to train Team Members in a manner that builds and sustains a high-performance team and minimizes turnover
- assists in training of new Team Members utilizing learning checklists and training materials
- keeps all cases and shelves clean, well-stocked and properly rotated
- opens and closes department according to established procedures
- ensures all necessary breaks are given
- communicates team concerns to the Team Leader and Associate Team Leader
- sets and achieves the highest standards of retail execution
- fosters and encourages a positive environment of outstanding teamwork, mutual respect, and exceptional morale
- maintains awareness of customer flows and needs and directs Team Members as necessary to satisfy and delight customers
- selects, trains, develops, mentors, motivates, and counsels Team Members to sustain a high-performance team and minimize turnover
- provides timely, thorough, and thoughtful performance evaluations
