The Bakery Associate role at BJ's Wholesale Club is essential in ensuring the preparation, baking, and presentation of high-quality bakery products. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can follow specific product handling instructions while maintaining cleanliness and safety standards within the bakery department. The Bakery Associate will proof and bake unfinished bakery goods, unpack frozen goods for display, and ensure fresh stock according to production charts. This role also includes responding to member inquiries, taking special orders, decorating products, and maintaining accurate pricing and labeling. Job Requirements

At least 18 years of age
Ability to follow product handling and safety instructions
Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 30 pounds and occasional bending, reaching, and stooping
Ability to work in temperature varying environments such as freezers and ovens
Willingness to maintain cleanliness and comply with safety standards
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Availability for regular, predictable attendance

Job Qualifications

Experience working in a bakery or customer service oriented environment preferred
Knowledge of bakery products preferred
At least 18 years of age

Job Duties

Answer questions and recommend bakery items
Answer member calls and take special orders
Proof and bake all unfinished bakery goods following product handling information
Use bakery production charts to guide production and display needs
Package freshly baked goods including cookies, pastries, muffins, rolls, breads, pies, and cakes
Decorate special orders or case products
Rotate and store bakery products following food safety and freshness policies
Receive, inspect, and store bakery shipments
Ensure products meet company quality standards and check for out-of-date products daily
Generate labels and price tickets and perform price checks
Clean and sanitize bakery equipment and food surfaces
Operate bakery equipment according to safety policies
Maintain all club policies and procedures
Perform other duties as assigned including working in other departments
Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance
