BJ’s is currently looking for a Bakery Team Member to join their dedicated bakery department. The role involves proofing and baking all unfinished bakery goods by adhering to product handling guidelines using ovens and bakery equipment. This position requires unpacking bakery goods from the freezer and displaying items according to production chart recommendations while following safe handling and storage procedures. Maintaining cleanliness and safety standards within the bakery area is a crucial part of the position.

The Bakery Team Member plays a vital role in delivering excellent service and upholding BJ’s high quality standards. Responsibilities include answering member questions, taking special orders, packaging freshly baked goods, decorating products for special orders, rotating and storing bakery items following food safety policies, inspecting shipments, and ensuring products remain fresh by removing out-of-date merchandise. The role also involves generating price labels and maintaining accurate pricing.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a bakery or customer service environment and knowledge of bakery products. The position requires a strong commitment to club policies and delivering the GOLD (Greet, Anticipate, Appreciate) member standards throughout the shopping experience. Collaboration, integrity, inclusion, and adapting quickly to change are essential values for success in this role.

This is a physically active job, with the need to stand, move about, bend, reach, and occasionally lift items up to 30 pounds or more with assistance. The worker will be exposed to various temperature extremes typical of bakery environments such as freezers and ovens, and cleaning agents.
