The Bakery Team Member role at BJ's Wholesale Club is an essential position within the bakery department responsible for proofing and baking unfinished bakery goods by adhering to product handling information and safe baking practices. This role involves the use of ovens and other equipment to ensure freshly baked goods meet quality standards. The team member also unpacks bakery goods from the freezer, displays appropriate amounts based on bakery production charts, and maintains strict cleaning and safety protocols within the bakery area. As part of the BJ's team, the bakery associate supports the application of club policies and procedures, works collaboratively with colleagues, and maintains a positive attitude aimed at delivering an excellent member experience.

Team members in this role interact directly with members by answering questions, recommending bakery items, and taking special orders. They are accountable for maintaining freshness, quality, and accurate pricing of bakery products, packaging freshly baked goods such as cookies, muffins, breads, and cakes, and decorating special order or case products. The role requires diligent inspection and proper storage of shipments while following food safety and product handling standards.
