The role available is for a part-time bakery associate position located at the Milpitas, CA store. This role involves assisting in preparing raw materials and participating in the baking process, including forming, cutting, shaping, and baking dough. The bakery associate will also be responsible for ensuring products are merchandised attractively and in line with company standards to showcase quality and freshness, which directly impacts sales. Stocking duties include unloading deliveries, organizing stockrooms, replenishing shelves, and applying the First-In First-Out (FIFO) method to manage product freshness.
Other responsibilities include wrapping and packaging bakery items for customers, maintaining a clean and safe working environment, following safety procedures and government regulations, and handling expired or recalled products properly under supervision. This powerful customer-facing role requires excellent interpersonal skills as associates greet customers, provide product information, offer samples, and ensure high levels of customer service.
The bakery associate may also perform cashier duties, handle cash accurately, participate in promotional demos as directed by supervisors, and perform other duties necessary for business operations. This position requires flexibility in scheduling to meet department needs, good time management skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Job Duties
- assist in preparing raw materials according to receipts or supervisor instructions
- assist with preparation of baking process including forming, cutting, shaping, and baking dough
- ensure products have proper signage and are well merchandised following company standards
- unload and break down deliveries, arrange stockroom properly, stock shelves and refill products using FIFO method
- be aware of expiration dates to remove older products and order new stock
- wrap and pack bakery items accurately and efficiently
- maintain safe working environments and comply with safety codes and government regulations
- coordinate cleanliness and maintenance with Maintenance Department
- control, safeguard, and monitor department assets following policies and procedures
- handle expired and recalled products properly under supervisor instruction
- perform demos to promote sales following supervisor instructions
- greet customers and provide excellent service, answer questions, introduce product samples
- follow cash handling procedures and complete checkout accurately
- perform other duties as needed for business
