This position is for a Bakery Associate at the Burlington, VT location. The Bakery Associate plays a vital role in enhancing the overall shopping experience by preparing, baking, and merchandising bakery products. Working under the direct supervision of the bakery manager or first clerk, the associate is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and appealing bakery workspace while providing fast and friendly customer service. The role involves operating bakery equipment, assisting with customer orders including special cake requests, and adhering strictly to corporate and state sanitation regulations. The position demands attention to detail, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work in a physically demanding environment. This is an hourly position with a pay range between $16.75 and $20.30, starting at $18 per hour. Job Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age
Ability to work in a physically demanding environment including lifting up to 100lbs
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Ability to operate bakery equipment safely
Must comply with corporate and state sanitation regulations

Job Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years of age

Knowledge of bakery equipment operation preferred
Familiarity with sanitation standards

Job Duties

Assist with the bakery operation within the retail store environment to include preparation, baking, merchandising and final presentation of all bakery products
Consistently work to provide fast, friendly, helpful and efficient customer service at all times
Responsible for smiling, making eye contact and thanking customer upon fulfilling customer's request
Maintain a neat, clean and organized work station, according to 5S standards, at all times
Responsible for assisting and/or creating customer special orders (i.e.: cake orders)
Responsible for operating bakery department equipment including but not limited to ovens, mixers, and utensils
Adhere to all corporate and state sanitation regulations in keeping a neat and clean work station
Must be familiar with state and corporate safety standards
Control shrink through adherence to related policies and procedures
Perform other related duties as assigned by management and adheres to all company policies and procedures
