Job Requirements

  • Less than high school education or equivalent experience
  • Six months or less of similar or related work experience
  • Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or verbal instructions
  • Ability to do simple addition and subtraction
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions
  • Ability to perform medium physical work involving lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Must be able to perform physical activities such as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions
  • Ability to work night and weekend shifts
  • Willingness to adhere to company policies and dress guidelines

Job Duties

  • Provide prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions
  • Smile and greet customers in a friendly manner
  • Make an effort to learn customers’ names and address them by name whenever possible
  • Assist customers by escorting them to products, securing hard-to-reach items, loading or unloading heavy objects, passing along customer requests
  • Review the status and appearance of food for freshness
  • Review orders for the day and take customer orders at the bakery counter
  • Work with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment
  • Practice proper sanitation procedures and maintain clean and neat work area
  • Prepare, finish and replenish bakery products as necessary
  • Operate department registers and handle payments where applicable
  • Remove trash promptly
  • Maintain adherence to personal hygiene and dress guidelines
  • Adhere to company policies and individual store guidelines
  • Report to work on schedule and on time
