The Bakery Clerk position at Bristol Farms is a vital role within the Bakery Department, reporting directly to the Bakery Manager. This position is hourly and is classified as nonexempt under the FLSA. The Bakery Clerk is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service that goes beyond the ordinary. Core duties include demonstrating thorough knowledge of bakery products such as prices, recipes, and appropriate uses. This knowledge enables clerks to assist customers efficiently and employ suggestive selling techniques to enhance the shopping experience. The role involves practical tasks such as weighing, wrapping, and processing bakery orders accurately, answering telephone calls, and taking orders when needed. The Bakery Clerk also contributes to sales promotion by setting up advertising displays and arranging merchandising effectively on counters and tables. In addition to customer-oriented duties, the role requires upkeep responsibilities, including cleaning and sanitizing bakery equipment, display cases, counters, and floors to meet hygiene standards. Following proper inventory management practices like the FIFO rotation system ensures product freshness and reduces waste, with leftovers being labeled, dated, and utilized appropriately. To perform successfully in this role, the Bakery Clerk must stay physically active, often standing for extended periods and handling bakery products and tools with dexterity. - Utilizes leftover products before opening new product
