Job Duties
- Prepare bakery items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment
- Offer product samples to help customers discover new items
- Inform customers of bakery specials
- Provide customers with fresh products with correct portion size to prevent shrink
- Recommend bakery items to customers to ensure they get the products they want
- Use all bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, ovens according to company guidelines
- Prepare foods following food temperature logs and cooking/baking instructions
- Measure, prepare and mix ingredients according to recipe
- Package, label and inventory bakery merchandise
- Check product quality to ensure freshness and review sell-by dates
- Use kitchen equipment properly including stove, fryer, steamer
- Label, stock and inventory department merchandise
- Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager
- Locate products for customers within the store
- Stay current with present and seasonal ads
- Maintain knowledge of bakery products to assist customers
- Monitor inventory and report discrepancies
- Ensure proper temperatures in cases and log maintenance
- Promote trust and respect among associates
- Create a welcoming environment for customers
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
- Follow safety procedures and notify management of unsafe conditions
- Display a positive attitude
- Inspect equipment and report repair needs
- Notify management of accidents
- Report safety risks and illegal activities
- Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation
