Job Duties

  • Prepare bakery items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment
  • Offer product samples to help customers discover new items
  • Inform customers of bakery specials
  • Provide customers with fresh products with correct portion size to prevent shrink
  • Recommend bakery items to customers to ensure they get the products they want
  • Use all bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, ovens according to company guidelines
  • Prepare foods following food temperature logs and cooking/baking instructions
  • Measure, prepare and mix ingredients according to recipe
  • Package, label and inventory bakery merchandise
  • Check product quality to ensure freshness and review sell-by dates
  • Use kitchen equipment properly including stove, fryer, steamer
  • Label, stock and inventory department merchandise
  • Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager
  • Locate products for customers within the store
  • Stay current with present and seasonal ads
  • Maintain knowledge of bakery products to assist customers
  • Monitor inventory and report discrepancies
  • Ensure proper temperatures in cases and log maintenance
  • Promote trust and respect among associates
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
  • Follow safety procedures and notify management of unsafe conditions
  • Display a positive attitude
  • Inspect equipment and report repair needs
  • Notify management of accidents
  • Report safety risks and illegal activities
  • Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation
