At Brookshire Grocery Company, the Bakery Worker role is vital in ensuring high standards of product quality and customer satisfaction. This position involves packaging, labeling, and pricing bakery products while maintaining stock levels and product freshness through date monitoring, appearance checks, and proper storage temperature control. The role supports bakery personnel in preparing and maintaining product displays and uses suggestive selling techniques to promote product sales. Responsibilities include adhering to quality control and food safety standards, ensuring a clean and safe environment, and providing excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries and taking orders both in person and by phone.
This position offers hands-on experience using bakery equipment such as bread slicers and commercial ovens while emphasizing teamwork and communication skills to maintain an efficient, customer-friendly bakery department. Candidates will need to be attentive to safety hazards, able to learn new processes quickly, and work flexible schedules that may include nights, weekends, and holidays. Job Requirements
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Food Handler certification
- able to stand and walk continuously
- able to lift up to 75 lbs occasionally
- attend work regularly
- able to communicate effectively
- able to operate bakery equipment safely
- must be attentive to hazards and report unsafe conditions
- flexible to work nights weekends and holidays
- partners must be 21 or older to drive for company business
