Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years bakery experience or equivalent education and experience
- ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- outgoing and friendly behavior
- good communication skills
- ability to take direction and work in a team
- ability to answer phones and take special orders
- ability to perform housekeeping and sanitation in the department
- ability to operate bakery equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
- able to stand for extended periods and physically transfer trays and items up to the required weights
- adherence to safety, health, and regulatory standards
- maintenance of a valid Food Handlers permit
Job Qualifications
- be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent
- have 1-2 years bakery experience or an acceptable combination of education and experience
- be dependable and reliable with the ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- have outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude and customer interaction skills
- possess good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
- be able to answer phones and take special orders
- perform general housekeeping and sanitation of the work area
- be capable of operating knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
- able to stand for long periods and handle physical transfer of trays and items up to specified weights
- adhere to safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations and maintain a Food Handlers permit
Job Duties
- assist the Bakery Manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising all baked goods
- provide a high level of customer service and ensure bakery items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented
- maintain clean, safe, and sanitary bakery area and equipment including cleaning shelves, floors, and removing hazardous debris
- stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy of bakery products while discarding outdated or spoiled items
- receive, inspect, and log products for accuracy of shipment, temperature, and quality
- answer phones and take special orders
- perform general housekeeping and sanitation tasks in the bakery department
