As a Bakery Clerk at Sprouts Farmers Market, you will be an essential part of the bakery team responsible for preparing and baking a variety of items including cookies, bread, muffins, and other baked goods using proven, high-quality ingredients. Your responsibilities will extend beyond baking and packaging; you will help maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary bakery area, including cleaning shelves, floors, and equipment to meet all health and safety regulations. You will also monitor product quality by inspecting shipments, managing stock rotation to discard any outdated or spoiled products, and ensuring accurate pricing and labeling using scales and other equipment. As a key point of contact with customers, you will engage with them in a friendly and helpful manner, answer phone calls, and take special orders.
This role requires physical stamina, as it involves standing for extended periods, handling trays and items of varying weights, and careful adherence to safety protocols including maintaining a Food Handlers permit. The position is part-time, with a flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays, offering a competitive pay range from $17.15 to $22.30 per hour based on experience and qualifications.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1-2 years of bakery experience
- Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift items up to 40 lbs
- Adhere to safety, health, and regulatory standards
- Maintain a valid Food Handlers permit
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Dependable and punctual
Job Qualifications
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Have 1-2 years bakery experience or equivalent education and experience
- Demonstrate dependable and reliable work habits
- Be able to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Possess outgoing and friendly behavior with positive attitude
- Have good communication skills
- Be able to answer phones and take special orders
- Ability to participate in a team environment
- Perform general housekeeping and sanitation duties
- Operate bakery equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
- Maintain a Food Handlers permit
Job Duties
- Assist the Bakery Manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising all baked goods
- Provide a high level of customer service in the bakery department
- Ensure cleanliness of the bakery area and equipment
- Stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy of bakery products
- Examine product rotation and discard outdated or spoiled items
- Receive, inspect, and log merchandise for accuracy, temperature, and quality
- Maintain compliance with safety and health regulations
