Job Requirements
- Must be 18 or older
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Six months or less of related work experience
- Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally with team lifting
- Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force frequently
- Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force constantly
- Ability to perform physical activities including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions
- Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions
- Ability to perform arithmetic calculations with fractions, decimals, and percentages
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen
- Must report to work on time and as scheduled
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Six months or less of similar or related work experience
- Ability to provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively
- Knowledge of bakery decoration techniques and trends
- Capability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Ability to operate bakery equipment such as mixers, ovens, and airbrush tools
- Basic arithmetic skills involving fractions, decimals, and percentages
- Ability to follow sanitation and safety protocols
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to maintaining a positive and professional demeanor
Job Duties
- Provide prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions
- Smile and greet customers in a friendly manner both in the designated department and throughout the store
- Make an effort to learn and use customers' names whenever possible
- Assist customers by escorting them to products, securing out-of-reach items, loading/unloading heavy items, and enhancing the shopping experience
- Answer telephone calls promptly and take bakery product orders
- Take customer orders at the bakery counter and communicate effectively with co-workers to ensure customer satisfaction
- Check daily orders to create timelines and production schedules
- Decorate bakery items in a timely manner, staying current on new designs and trends
- Ensure department standards are met, including checking cake order details and supply needs
- Order decorating supplies and oversee receipt
- Deliver and set up wedding cakes on site
- Communicate daily with bakery manager regarding displays, weekly ads, and special needs
- Monitor product dates, pull cases for work, and list items for refill or replacement
- Develop bakery orders for bakers and track daily retail production
- Operate as a lead worker with part-time or other employees including instruction and review of work
- Participate in employee cross training
- Practice proper sanitation procedures and maintain a clean work area
- Adhere to company policies and store guidelines
- Report to work on time as scheduled
