Whole Foods Market is hiring for the position of Apprentice Bakery Decorator, a role designed to cultivate specialized skills in cake and pastry decorating through an engaging apprenticeship program. This role not only focuses on learning the technical aspects of bakery decoration but also embodies the company’s commitment to retail excellence and customer experience. The Apprentice Bakery Decorator program combines hands-on training with formal instruction, allowing the selected candidate to gain expertise in assembling, filling, icing, and decorating cakes, tarts, and pastries to meet Whole Foods Market’s quality standards. Apprentices will work closely under the guidance of skilled Bakery Decorators, known as Designated Instructors, to create visually stunning and delicious bakery products that delight customers.

The program runs for a six-month duration, with an additional three months allowed for completion if necessary, culminating in a final certification. Throughout the apprenticeship, Team Members will also develop customer service skills by addressing customer needs, managing special orders, and maintaining an inviting sales display. The role requires a passion for natural foods and a dedication to Whole Foods Market’s mission alongside strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

Physically, the role demands the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand or walk for extended periods, and handle tools such as knives and electric pallet jacks safely.
