Job Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of one year experience in bakery operations
  • Completion of baker assessment testing
  • Health department training required
  • Ability to calculate ingredient measurements accurately
  • Effective oral communication skills
  • Basic literacy in English for reading and writing job-related documents
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work under varying temperature conditions
  • Willingness to adhere to safety and hygiene standards
  • Ability to use safety equipment and follow company compliance initiatives
  • Ability to perform cleaning and maintenance duties
  • Willingness to comply with drug testing policies

Job Qualifications

  • High school education or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of one year of experience in full bakery operations and procedures or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Health department training required
  • Ability to calculate percentages and ratios for ingredient measurements
  • Effective communication skills including hearing, speaking, and understanding spoken English
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English to comprehend instructions, policies, and safety documents
  • Ability to fill out forms and compose reports
  • Knowledgeable of baking methods, safety, and health procedures
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Job Duties

  • Maintain neat and well-groomed personal appearance and observe company dress regulations
  • Assist in receiving and unloading merchandise
  • Check and verify receipts against vendor invoices and inspect product quality
  • Rotate bakery ingredients and products using first in, first out method
  • Adhere to shift operating hours and conserve utilities and water
  • Maintain general housekeeping and cleaning meeting health standards
  • Check refrigeration equipment and report maintenance issues
  • Use and maintain baking equipment properly
  • Prepare dough and baking mixtures according to recipes
  • Pan up frozen products and round bread
  • Mix, ice sweet rolls, breads and cookies and add toppings
  • Load and unload ovens and know proper baking temperatures and times
  • Operate mixers, sheeters, and scale cakes and cupcakes
  • Assist in ordering and inventory control of bakery supplies
  • Handle damaged and spoiled products per company policy
  • Record invoices and product adjustments accurately
  • Monitor product sales to optimize production
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and packaging regulations
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Maintain good communication within the department and organization
  • Assist in training associates and coworkers
  • Notify management of personnel issues or policy violations
  • Greet customers appropriately
  • Observe security standards and report abnormal behavior
  • Complete required training programs
  • Use safety equipment as mandated
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations
